Crohn’s Disease is a chronic inflammatory disease which can affect any part of Gastro-intestinal tract from mouth to anus

common major symptoms are weight loss abdominal pain fever  and weight loss

there may be associated symptoms and other complications like anemia skin rashes inflammatory changes at other tissue along with lethargic feeling weakness

bowel obstruction is one of the common complication

few long standing cases are at risk of bowel cancer

multiple factors contributes to crohn’s disease

lifestyle environmental stressors microbial activity and genetic desposition

crohns disease is  immune related and is more related to weak immune system and doesn’t seem to be autoimmune

it can b confused with irritable syndrome and Behcet’s disease and a biopsy can help to establish diagnosis

crohn’s disease affects about 3.2 /1000 population
